McKinsey & Co. Report: Revolutionizing Data Center Efficiency

First presented at the Institute’s 2008 Symposium, Green Enterprise Computing: Capitalizing on Current Opportunities and Exploring Future Trends in Energy Efficiency, in Orlando, Florida, this jointly developed Report by Will Forrest of McKinsey and Ken Brill of Uptime outlines the severe negative financial consequences of continuing high levels of data center investment. The Report is broken into three Findings, three Drivers of Poor Efficiency, three Recommendations, and a Goal for doubling data center efficiency using a new business metric entitled CADE, or Corporate Average Datacenter Efficiency.
