Mr. Turner, is Executive Director & Senior Tier Certification Authority for Institute, is a resourceful and innovative team leader. His blend of technical and management skills has helped him direct the successful design and construction or alteration of many data centers. Mr. Turner is a model user of Total Quality Management techniques and has been a frequent TQM resource to many baby bell companies. He is formally trained in the Crosby system and was a student of Dr. W. Edward Demming.
Recently, Mr. Turner has guided the construction of two major United Parcel Service projects: the new Windward data center in Atlanta and the Ramapo center in Mahwah, New Jersey. He is responsible for developing site-integration testing and commissioning which simulates five years of experience in the newly constructed infrastructure to identify problems before live computing begins. Mr. Turner participated in all design meetings and prepared the final matrix reliability analysis. He has played a similar project-oversight role for Depository Trust, Hewlett-Packard, Kmart, State Farm, Texaco, and Wells Fargo.
Previously, Mr. Turner was senior project manager for Pacific Bell's Fairfield Data Center where he bore overall responsibility for concept development, design, construction, and start-up of the 200,000 ft2 facility. His work included benchmarking other major data centers to help establish the business-process improvements necessary to support the design concept.
As a result of his leadership contributions, Mr. Turner was recently selected as the recipient of the INTELLEX (intelligent excellence) Award for new construction by the Intelligent Building Institute and Consulting Specifying Engineer magazine. The competition was international. In another honor, Mr. Turner served as Pacific Bell's project manager for its Fairfield Data Center which was named by Engineered Systems magazine as "Project Team of the Year".
Mr. Turner received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California Davis, and a MBA with honors from Golden Gate University.
