Critical Issues

The Invisible Crisis in the Data Center
Why IT Performance is Driving the Economic Meltdown of Moore's Law

  • Moore's Law may still be viable in consumer electronics, but it no longer works inside large corporations. Find out the real cost of performance increases and learn about the risks of increased data density.
  • Left unchecked, facilities costs will skyrocket 5 to 15 times over the next few years. Find out how to measure, monitor, and manage the invisible costs of running a data center. Learn how to assess your headroom capacity and what the impact will be when you run out of space.
  • Data centers are becoming a key focus in the green movement because of their massive energy consumption. How much will it cost and what effect will it have on your company? What steps do you need to take now, and in the future, to address this shift?
  • Money is being left on the table inside of corporations through inefficient energy management, data usage, and bad application choices. Find out how you can recoup some of these savings and how you can slash energy consumption by up to 50 percent.
  • Politics inside large corporations are changing. Siloing operations will give way to functional teams that span multiple departments. Learn how this will affect you and your team, what the new corporate landscape will look like, and where to find the new centers of influence.

Mission

Our Mission: The Uptime Institute, Inc.? (the Institute) Symposiums provide critical, independent information to help all stakeholders in corporate data, IT, finance, facilities, and real estate deal with existing and emerging problems. The subject matter ranges from a high-level examination of data density and energy consumption trends, as well as the growing impact of green politics, to specific steps that can be taken to improve efficiency, extend data capacity, and fuse the various corporate departments together to reach a common goal of saving money. The Symposium, developed with the guidance of Site Uptime Network member companies, industry stakeholders and underwriters, brings together the best minds in the industry to address the critical issues surrounding high-density computing.
